IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kevin
Johnson
December 31, 1963 – February 3, 2026
Kevin Anthony Johnson, a native of Houma, Louisiana, passed away on February 3, 2026, at the age of 62. Kevin was born on December 31, 1963. He grew up in Chauvin, Louisiana, and later made his home in New Iberia, Louisiana.
Many knew him as “K” or “Miner.” Kevin had a presence that people remembered. He took pride in how he carried himself and believed in stepping out looking his best. His creased jeans and cowboy boots were part of his signature style. And if you knew Kevin, you knew one more thing — you could smell him before you saw him. His cologne was never light. It announced his arrival before he did. Looking good and smelling good were just part of who he was.He also enjoyed watching sports and could often be found watching ESPN, watching a game, or keeping up with his teams enjoying the excitement that came with it.
He is survived by his wife Lisa Johnson; and former wife, Judy Johnson, with whom he shared three children. Kevin leaves to cherish his memories his children: Kevin Williams (June Brown), Anthony Dennis, Paige Castle, Cierra Johnson, Tierra Johnson, Keyshawn Stewart, and Ty’Querious Jenkins; sixteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by his brothers: Isaac Green (Muriel), Donald Johnson, Ronald Johnson, Sam Jackson (Pam), Jermaine Johnson, Gerald Butler, and Isaac Ricks; his sisters: Michelle Walker, Sharon Jackson, Cynthia Newman (Alton), Tasha Smith (Robert), Shawanda Moore, and Tina Taylor (Anthony); his uncles: John Johnson and Kevin Johnson (Valerie); his aunts: Eula Vickers (Angelo), Letha Johnson (Daniel), and Yvette Butler (Allen); along with his bonus son Jordan Taylor, Mother in Law Judy Hart and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Kevin was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Lee Jackson; his stepfather, Sam Moore; his brothers, Herbert, Jerome, and Vernell Johnson; his grandparents, Thomas and Evella Johnson; his uncles, Thomas, Ernest, and Herbert Johnson; and his aunts, Alzena Stewart, Molly Thibodaux, Yvonne Williams, and Barbara Price.
