La’Poncha DaNac Jones, affectionately known as “P” or “Porcha,” of Houston, Texas, passed away on july 3, 2025, at the age of 33, following complications from natural causes and cardiac stress. Her unexpected passing is a profound loss to her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her. The family deeply appreciates the outpouring of love and support from the community during this difficult time.
Born on May 4, 1992, in Omaha, Nebraska, Porcha was a devoted mother, cherished daughter, beloved granddaughter, caring sister, treasured cousin, and loyal friend. She had an infectious sense of humor, a warm heart, and a boundless creative spirit. Her deep curiosity and ability to connect with others made her a truly special soul who touched countless lives. Porcha began her journey of faith at the young age of six when she accepted Christ. She was baptized at age seven in 1999 at Glad Tidings Church in Omaha, where she enthusiastically participated in Sunday School and children’s church. Her early years at Masters Elementary showcased her academic talents, especially in reading and spelling, which were skills nurtured through the loving support of her cousin Ashley, who faithfully helped her every day after school. Porcha had a deep love for music, especially Hip-Hop, and she possessed a beautiful singing voice. However, her greatest joy and source of strength came from her four children: Kody, Kori, P’irie, and her baby girl, Syari. They were her world—her pride, her purpose, and her greatest achievement. She devoted herself fully to them, providing unconditional love, support, and care. Wherever Porcha went, her children were by her side. She was preceded in death by her younger brother, Kevin “Lil K” Benjamin, in 2018. Porcha is survived by her loving mother, Melissa Benjamin, and stepfather, Kevin Benjamin; her four beloved children, Kody Jones, LeKori Dixon, P’irie Jones, and Syari Stewart; her grandfather, Charlie Jones; grandmother, Deborah Benjamin; brother, Kalieb Benjamin; sister, Kayla Benjamin; aunts, Carol Frazier, Shontee Benjamin and Felicia Jones; uncles, Joshua Jones, Marcus Rush, Joe Rush, and Corey Spigner; devoted cousins, Dawn Gillis and Sherkayla Johnson; and a host of extended family and dear friends who will forever hold her memory in their hearts. Though her time with us was far too short, Porcha lived with deep love, strength, and resilience. Her legacy lives on through her children and the many lives she touched. While we mourn her passing, we take comfort in knowing she is now at peace.
