Obituary

Linda Gail Knox, a devoted family woman and respected member of the labor community, peacefully passed away on May 20, 2026. Born on March 23, 1956, Linda lived a life marked by dedication both to her career and to those she cherished most.

Linda's early education laid a foundation for her lifelong commitment to growth and perseverance. She attended Pleasantville Elementary, McReynolds Middle School, and E.L. Furr High School before advancing to Prairie View A&M University. Her pursuit of knowledge and excellence was evident throughout her life.

For over thirty years, Linda was a proud clerk and checker with ILA Local 1351. Her steadfast presence and reliability within the union were a testament to her strong work ethic and dedication. Throughout her career, she was valued by colleagues who recognized her professionalism and integrity.

Known for her sweet, loving, and caring nature, Linda’s heart was truly dedicated to her family. She loved them deeply and nurtured those bonds with tenderness and warmth. Her legacy lives on through her son, Jeron Alexander Knox, who survives her, carrying forward the values she instilled.

Linda is also lovingly remembered by her siblings: Deborah Ann Knox-Jackson, Kathy Therasa Knox-Hatch, and Donna Faye Knox. Her presence was a source of comfort and strength within this close-knit family circle.

Her love extended to the younger generations in her family as well, with her grandchildren Davin Elliot Cross and Jacob Alexander Knox holding a special place in her heart. Her nurturing spirit and gentle guidance will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Betty J. Thibodeaux-Knox and Dan H. Knox, and her brother Don Gregory Knox whose memories she held dear throughout her life. Their influence helped shape the remarkable woman she became.

Linda Gail Knox’s life was one of quiet strength and profound love. Her commitment to her family and her profession set an enduring example. Her memory remains a blessing to those who were fortunate to know her, and her spirit will continue to inspire.
